Deepest purple with red tones. Heady aromas of blackcurrant and blackberries lift from the glass with hints of violet, mint, cedar box and tobacco leaf. Complex berries of the forest with dark chocolate glide across the palate. Layers of texture reveal intense spiced fruit, succulent acids and crunchy, savoury tannin.
2015 was an another great vintage in the Mount Benson wine region. Lower yields produced great intensity of flavour, bright dark colours and complex aromatics. The wine is fermented on skins for 15 days before being pressed and matured in for 20 months in 50% new French oak, with the remaining in older French and a little American oak.
