Matriarch & Rogue 'Ken' Rose 750ML 2019

Region: Clare Valley, South Australia

Units Per Case: 12

Primitiovo has an amazing ability to retain acid with juicy tannins and a hint of spice at a lower baumé. Fruit was picked and held in a refrigerated cool room prior to crushing, bringing out a slight confectionary character and helping to enhance and stabilize the gorgeous colour. Slow, cool ferment helped to enhance the flavours of Turkish delight and red berries. The balance of natural sugar and acid give a clean and balanced palate that surrounds the gentle Primitivo spice.

Winemakers Notes:

Named after Marnies great uncle Ken who was Pats Rogue. A beautiful man that had style and loved a chat. This Rose is more a white wine with blush rather than a rose. It has strength, balance and delicate flavours that come from the variety of Primitivo that is sourced from the Watervale region of Clare Valley. Made in a style that is more suited to the French Provence region, this rose exhibits a rose petal aroma with a slight watermelon edge. Backed with crisp savory acid and a hint of white pepper, this is sure to be a treat for the more serious Rose drinker. Hand picked, fermented to dry in barrel and left to mature on lees for 10 months before being bottled. No fining and no added acid.
