Lonely Vineyard Montepulciano 750ml 2017

Awards: 95 Points Halliday Wine Companion

"From the Horseshoe Vineyard at Eden Valley at 440m. Dark red and deeply hued. More black-fruited than red, with licorice straps and floral notes. The floral notes are more pronounced on the palate, enhancing the redcurrant and cranberry flavours. Tannins are soft, with just a whisker of chalkiness, which helps to keep the finish bright and sapid. Really enjoyable."

Region: Eden Valley, South Australia

Winemakers Note:

Montepulciano grafted onto Riesling in the Horseshoe Vineyard, situated between Eden Valley and Craneford in the Eden Valley Region. The vines are grown in sandy/loam soils at an altitude of 440m. The wines are basket pressed and racked into older French oak puncheons for 16 months maturation prior to bottling
